University of Lincoln - Research and Income Generation Support

Brayford Pool, Lincoln, LN6 7TS

Lincoln is a university looking to the future where we serve and develop our local, national and international communities by creating purposeful knowledge & research, confident & creative graduates and a dynamic & engaged workforce. We will achieve this through a culture of enterprise and innovation.

Research & Enterprise is a central professional support department which works with staff, industry, external partners, students and graduates to drive:

  • A dynamic research environment
  • Increased levels of graduate employment and progression
  • Innovation & productivity levels throughout our region.

We use all these elements together and separately to build wide and deep external partnerships, further developing our role as an ‘active anchor institution’.

Since its establishment in 2011, Research & Enterprise has supported growth in activity and impact such as a doubling in external bidding activity and HEBCI related income and a fivefold increase in student employability interactions. The University has changed significantly during this period and with the development and implementation of a new University Strategic Plan responding to a changing external environment (e.g. Brexit, UKRI etc.) we now have exciting opportunities to creating a new model of support for our customers.

These positions are an integral part of our Research and Industrial Partnerships team within Research and Enterprise, and will lead on gathering intelligence in areas of research and innovation, along side the Business Development Officer (IUK) and Research Development & Operations Manager (line manager). The roles will contribute to the University’s wider research goals, particularly the development and delivery of the University’s research strategy. This will be achieved through pro-active targeting of potential funding sources, the preparation and submission of external funding applications, stakeholder engagement, researcher development, and supporting project completion including reporting and audit.

We are seeking to recruit dynamic, proactive, innovative individuals to this post, and other positions within the department, to help drive and build further success.

These 2 posts are full time, 37 hours per week.

Closing date: Monday, 2 October 2017
