Are you an excellent technical Accountant (part qualified CCAB (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or qualified AAT actively studying to become a qualified accountant? Do you have experience of management information reporting using a large scale accounting system, financial planning, budget preparation and control in a large organisation? Would you like to work for a world-class, research-led Faculty which aims to provide an educational environment that encourages and facilitates excellence whilst supporting our students to develop personally and professionally?

The Faculty of Medicine & Health is the largest and most complex Faculty in the University with around 1,600 staff and 5,800 students. You will support the Finance Manager in the provision of a financial management service to the Institute/School management and staff. In return you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic financial environment and be involved in producing comprehensive sustainable financial strategies which will underpin the School / Institute strategic plans. Additionally you will be supported with the continuation of your studies if applicable.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of Institute and School financial transactions and that budget and forecasting models are updated correctly. You will have excellent problem solving skills and a tenacity for investigating variances to reconcile accounts. In addition, you will have strong communication skills and be able to explain technical information to non-specialists.
