Salary: £15,537.14 to £17,142.85 per annum - 20 hours per week (0.57 FTE of £27,190 - £30,000 per annum pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive individual to provide wide-ranging technical support to our innovative and creative Research Centre, including simulation-based activities and events that form part of the St Mary’s Patient Experience Hub.

The Imperial College Centre for Engagement and Simulation Science (ICCESS) is led by Professor Roger Kneebone, Professor of Surgical Education & Simulation Science, and Dr Fernando Bello, Reader in Surgical Computing & Simulation Science, The Centre’s aim is to advance human health through simulation. Established in 2015 within the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial’s Chelsea & Westminster campus, the Centre carries out a wide range of research, education and public engagement activities. ICCESS has established an international profile for innovation and creativity.

The Patient Experience Hub is a collaboration between ICCESS, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial Healthcare Charity.  The overarching aim of the Hub is to use simulation to improve the experience of patients and their families at St Mary’s Hospital, London.

The post holder will be responsible for all technical aspects of the Centre’s work and Hub activities, including managing and maintaining simulation and visualisation equipment and IT systems, controlling an inventory of spares and consumables, data and digital media management and storage. The post holder will also support research staff in the organisation and delivery of internal and external simulation events, with responsibility for provision and setting up of equipment and A/V data capture.

The post holder will have a First degree (Upper Second Class or above) or equivalent NVQ / similar qualification in a relevant discipline (including but not confined to Engineering, Information Technology and related fields).

The post is part-time, 20 hours per week until 30th June 2019 in first instance and will be based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Campus (Fulham Road).
