Post Doctoral Research Associate

Durham University - Department of Physics

Closing Date: 13th October 2017 (Midday)

This post is full time and fixed term for 2 years.

We seek to appoint a postdoctoral research scientist with an interest in complex data analysis and image processing, to work on a multidisciplinary Wellcome Trust funded project held between two leading universities. This collaboration, with Prof McCarron at Strathclyde University, is working to understand chemical signalling in intact biological tissues through developments in optical microscopy and data analysis. Our long-term goal is to understand the signalling within the cellular networks lining blood vessels and its role in disease.

Your role in this project will be to analyse images and associated data from the biological experiments, to enable the whole team to study and understand signalling behaviour. You will support and expand the current image analysis pipeline as well as developing new analysis methods. Several different types of images are analysed, with time series of calcium signalling being the most common.
