Job Purpose

As part of our technology journey we are looking to invest in an experienced Systems Analyst to join our student systems team to help lead in the functional design and configuration of our student management system and associated applications. Working alongside a solutions focused team you will help drive the development, functionality and usability of our student management systems.

Job Responsibilities

As a customer focused Systems Analyst IT you will build relationships with key stakeholders across Academic, Registry and the wider IT Service Team to understand requirements for functionality. As a key systems analyst you will take ownership in designing innovative solutions which will help drive system capability.

As an experienced Systems Analyst you will need to pick up and develop your knowledge of our SITS student management system, becoming a subject matter expert providing advice and guidance to the University and demonstrating how we can utilise this system better whilst improving functionality and usability.

Core Skills

  • A strong technical background in the configuration, design and support of enterprise applications in a complex and large user base environment.
  • Ideally experience of working within an academic environment with knowledge of student management systems.
  • Experience of business analysis and working with complex stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
  • A solutions focused background with the ability to work with customers to ensure potential functionality of systems is exploited and well aligned to user requirements.
  • Proven experience of working in a project environment ideally with knowledge of Prince 2.
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships across a broad internal stakeholder community and partner organisations to enable the successful delivery of high quality services.

Communication

  • You will be a self-motivated and dynamic individual who is able to challenge and influence others, develop and maintain collaborative working relations across IT and non IT departments.
  • High level, proven inter-personal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and motivate a team of IT professionals.
