Contracts & Intellectual Property Manager

Applications are invited for the post of Contracts and Intellectual Property Manager in the Research & Enterprise directorate.

This demanding role will play a pivotal role within a team helping the university deliver its strategy to pursue opportunities to enhance and diverse its sources of income, developing high quality research, commercialisation/impact and IP access projects and collaborations, in the UK and world-wide, with the public, private and third sectors.

Applicants should have a strong and demonstrable background in the university sector of:

  • the management of all research related agreements and contracts, such as those for externally funded research projects and research grants, collaborative research partnerships, material transfers, single and multi-party non-disclosure and confidentiality arrangements.
  • the management of all aspects of research related intellectual property, such as inventions and patents (including appointment and management of patent agents), copyright, licensing and other commercialisation and intellectual property access agreements.

As well as the relevant formal qualifications and or equivalent professional experience, the successful candidate will need the ability to work effectively under pressure to demanding deadlines, with a client focussed approach, excellent interpersonal skills and with a high level of self-organisation and attention to detail.
