An exciting opportunity for a Hugh Sinclair Lectureship in Nutritional Sciences (3-years, fixed term in the first instance) at the internationally renowned Hugh Sinclair Unit in Human Nutrition.

We seek a talented, motivated nutritional scientist for a teaching and research post in a dynamic and highly regarded Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery and development of BSc and MSc nutrition degree programmes and establish an independent research profile, which will complement and enhance the existing research strengths of the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition.

The successful applicant will have research interests which complement and enhance the research strengths within the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences, and will seek funding to support research activities with groups within the university and beyond. The successful applicant will join a dynamic and active Department with excellence in teaching and research, and will become a member of the University’s new Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health.

The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to pursue international academic and industry collaborations due to our membership of the EIT Food Knowledge and Innovation Community, which is focused on improving nutrition and making the food system more resource-efficient, secure, transparent and trusted.

You will have:

  • PhD in nutrition or related biological science.
  • Experience of teaching nutrition and related subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Evidence of good publication record in peer reviewed journals.
  • Experience of writing grant bids and research excellence.
  • Experience of module coordination and development in nutrition and/or related biological sciences is desirable.
