LIS Assistant: Desktop and AV Support

University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS), the new Higher Education Institution in Shrewsbury being delivered in collaboration between the University of Chester and Shropshire Council, is seeking to appoint an LIS Assistant: Desktop and AV Support.

Learning and Information Services provides library, information technology and media services and therefore plays a key role in the learning, teaching, research and administrative functions of the University. The department promotes a strong project and service management ethos and staff are required to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies in order to support high quality traditional and electronic services for our users.

The role holder will assist the LIS Desktop Services Manager in the provision of communications and IT support to both University staff and students. Expected within the role is the installation and maintenance of desktop equipment, including Apple Mac and PC across the University.

The successful applicant will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and to possess excellent customer service skills. You will be educated to A Level standard or higher and have proven experience of providing customer/user support in an IT environment. The role holder will also be expected to possess technical knowledge/experience of working with PC/Apple Mac hardware and software.
