Lecturer in Public Law

The Department of Law are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Public Law, to teach LLB and possibly LLM students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Department, together with making significant research contributions to the field, nationally and internationally.

Candidates should have an excellent academic background, hold a PhD in Law and have the capacity to research and publish at an internationally excellent level. Experience of teaching public law at undergraduate and postgraduate level, excellent communication and organisational skills, are also essential.

Experience in writing applications for research grants and obtaining funding and/or experience of mentoring and supervising research students, would be beneficial.

The post is a full time, 3 years fixed term contract to cover a colleague’s Leverhulme Research Grant leave. Starting salary will be £40,865 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, an interest-free season ticket loan, and a defined benefit pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
